My name is Marc Munz, and I am a time traveller.
But that’s not such a big feat, really. Time travel is so commonplace that it’s mundane. We all travel through time, every day of our lives. Each tick taking us further forward in time. Forward being the key. Moving backwards is basically impossible. But who cares? Only history lies that way. The future holds pure potential.
That’s why I built the time machine, a device that would allow me to travel forward in time faster than anyone else. I could see what mankind will make of itself. I’m going to travel far enough into the future that real progress can be made, but not so far as to render the landscape unrecognizable.
Okay, you might think I’m crazy, leaving my friends and family. But my family are all gone, and work is my only friend. The future is pure potential for me personally too.
I calibrated the machine’s computer to wake me up in 100 years, I ran the system through it’s final tests, then activated it.
So. Sleepy.
I woke up 10,000 years later.
